MNO Post-Secondary Education Quarterly Update Vol. 6

PSE Student Support Program

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Post-Secondary Education Support Program is up and running once again. Successful applicants, enrolled in the Spring and Summer should have had their 1st installment issued already, if they have finished their Secondary Tasks.

Students will be notified in early December to complete a short questionnaire confirming their previous enrollments and verifying their continued enrollment. Completing this task will allow us to issue your next payment.

PSE Tutoring Support Program

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will continue to offer the Post-Secondary Education Tutoring Program. The MNO has partnered with Tutor Ocean, a dedicated global online tutoring platform, to provide citizens with access to thousands of qualified tutors to support them while they are enrolled in Post-Secondary Education. We still have capacity to support more students at this time!

PSE Travel Support Program

The MNO is continuing to offer eligible Post-Secondary Education Students access to the MNO’s 2022-23 Post-Secondary Education (PSE) Travel Support Program. This initiative will provide eligible applicants with a one-time travel subsidy to assist with the costs of travel to school. To be eligible for this program an applicant must: We still have capacity to support more students at this time!!

Currently be a Métis student enrolled into an accredited post-secondary program at a recognized University or College in Ontario

Be required to travel more than 300 kilometers, one way, to their Post-Secondary Institution

Be a verified MNO citizen or have a letter of eligibility from the MNO Registry

Infinite Reach Facilitators Wanted!

The MNO is pleased to announce the next intake of Infinite Reach Facilitators. We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic upper year Métis post-secondary students to act as Facilitators at universities and colleges throughout Ontario for the upcoming academic year. These positions are volunteer based with the opportunity to receive honoraria for applicable work. Métis Student Bursary Program is Now Open!

The MNO Métis Student Bursary Program provides bursaries to Métis citizens at 43 Ontario post-secondary institutions. MNO citizens may apply for bursaries each year after they register for school, typically in September. Applications are reviewed by the MNO, and successful recipients are notified and announced in the winter term of each year. Funding amounts of the bursaries vary based on funding availability. Métis citizens can apply to the Métis Student Bursary Program by visiting their school’s website.
