Your Thunder Bay Metis Council, through the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Housing Stabilization Program, has obtained Street Survival Kits for individuals who are experiencing homelessness, are at-risk of homelessness, or who are precariously housed. We are seeking to disperse the kits to MNO Citizens of Region 2 free of charge.
We have 10 kits available on a first come, first serve basis, until they are gone, or September 30, 2022, whichever comes first. If you or someone you know is in need of one of these kits, please contact Regan Bolduc, Councillor at Large, via email at reganbolduc@gmail.com
About the MNO Housing Stabilization Program:
Since the fall of 2020, the MNO Housing Stabilization Program has been working to meet the needs of MNO Citizens who are experiencing homelessness, at-risk of homelessness or precariously housed. Available services include housing-based case management (i.e., housing searches, referrals, landlord-tenant dispute resolution, emergency shelter placement, etc.), as well as an Emergency Support Fund created to provide financial supports to those in need with housing related emergencies (i.e., rental/utility arrears and as well as household set-up costs, first/last months’ rent for those exiting homelessness, etc.). During the 2021-22 fiscal year, the Housing Stabilization Program was able to provide assistance to over 800 MNO Citizen households.
