A Chartered MNO Community Council

The Thunder Bay Métis Nation is an MNO chartered community council that represents Métis citizens at a local level.
As stated on the MNO website “Community Councils operate in accordance with MNO Charter Agreements, which give councils the mandate to govern, while ensuring accountability, transparency, and consistency.”
The Council meets monthly at the Métis Community Hall; all MNO citizens are welcome to attend. For more information please contact the council.

Thank you to all the Citizens and guests of the Thunder Bay and District Métis Council who attended our Louis Riel Day Celebration held at the Fort William Historical Park on November 26, 2022. It was great to have you join us in person.

With our core Self-Government Agreement in hand, the MNO is moving forward together to build a constitution and implement self-government. And we want to ensure that all MNO Citizens, regions and communities are engaged in that process in a way that makes sense for them.
