The Thunder Bay Métis Nation is an MNO chartered community council that represents Métis citizens at a local level.

 

As stated on the MNO website “Community Councils operate in accordance with MNO Charter Agreements, which give councils the mandate to govern, while ensuring accountability, transparency, and consistency.”  

 

The Council meets monthly at the Métis Community Hall; all MNO citizens are welcome to attend.  For more information please contact the council.

This knowledge is valuable when working with diabetics and prediabetics in your role with the MNO, or in your everyday life with family and friends -- as diagnoses of diabetes and prediabetes are on the rise.

The Northern Lake Superior Métis Leadership Committee to Self-Government was founded as part of the path to self government and self determination, and our mandate is to further Métis rights in Northern Ontario, and specifically in communities that encompass Thunder Bay, Geraldton, Marathon, and Terrace Bay.

MNO's Mental Health and Addictions Services

The Métis Nation of Ontario is offering access to Métis culturally specific mental health and addiction supports for adults, youth and families in Ontario.  Delivered in person where possible or via videoconference or telephone, we connect Metis people to specialized mental health and addictions professionals in French and English.

MNO Early Learning and Childcare Community Engagement Sessions in 2021

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is conducting research and engagements to inform the future of early learning and childcare (ELCC) for Métis families across the province. The goal of this initiative is to provide MNO with information to enhance their understating of MNO Citizens’ needs as they relate to ELCC and of current trends in childcare across Ontario.

Due to the pandemi c , the Region 2 Consultation Committee has decided to hold a virtual community information session in place of the usual in - person sessions. The session will be held utilizing the online videoconferencing service Zoom and registration is required. Family and friends, res iding within the same household, are encouraged to participate together on one device and one member of each household c an register for multiple people.
